Here at SJ Accounting I offer a friendly but professional service. My aim is to build strong working relationships with my clients, I think it’s really important for accountants to be proactive to ensure that a clients needs are met in a timely manner but they should also be approachable – many people find accounting and taxation overwhelming and can sometimes find it hard to deal with their finances but ultimately I am here to help them to understand their accounts, build their confidence and in turn help their businesses to grow. I am able to provide clients with accountancy and business services that are specifically tailored to their needs and to help them operate as effectively and efficiently as possible.

I began my career way back in 2004 when I was lucky enough to get a work based training opportunity with a firm in Taunton. During my time with them I studied whilst gaining practical experience at the same, I qualified as Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in 2006 and I then went on to qualify as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2010. I stayed at this practice for 10 years and then went on to work elsewhere in order to gain more experience. I now have over 20 years of experience behind me and have worked with clients operating in many different sectors, agriculture, beauty, construction and retail to name a few!

In 2017 I was luckily enough to become a mum and whilst I returned to my employed job following my maternity leave my life had changed and I quickly realised that I need to adapt my career in order for me work more flexibly so that I could be more present for my little boy. I needed to get myself in a position where I could be a really a good mum and a really good accountant but this was proving challenging with a 9-5 employed job based the next town. This is when SJ Accounting was born! After helping so many clients run their businesses I decided it was time to start my own enabling me to work predominately from home. Being a busy working mum myself I understand the challenges of juggling work with family life which is why I am here to help you to run your business more efficiently.
